So, pretty much just what it says. I posted about these over on my main journal a few days back, but thought I should probably put them up here just in case.

I've been hanging out over at comment_fic for awhile now. I don't end up writing much, though I do have a whole folder of lonely prompts to follow up on, but I like the community.

Anyway, for a crossover day last week I wrote two small bits of fiction.

Burn Notice/Leverage: Michael/Eliot, PG-13ish, UntitledCollapse )

Firefly/Supernatural: River/Sam, PGish, In DreamsCollapse )

It has been a really long time since I've posted something here. I promise to do better this year.

These are two recent stories I wrote for comment_fic.

Title: Used to Know
Fandom(s): Leverage
Rating: PG
Summary: He used to know he is a monster
Disclaimer: I don't own Leverage. I've got even less than I had a year ago, so suing would be pointless.
Author’s Notes: Written for comment_fic This was the prompt: Leverage, Eliot (+team), He used to know he is a monster.

Title: Seven Years
Fandom(s): Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Rating: PG
Summary: I broke a mirror the day we moved to Sunnydale.
Disclaimer: I don't own Buffy. I've got even less than I had a year ago, so suing would be pointless.
Author’s Notes: Written for comment_fic This was the prompt: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Buffy/Angel, seven years of bad luck. I didn't really work much of any Buffy/Angel into it.

I thought this was a neat idea, but it's a fairly massive image collection so it's under the cut. It was also a little amusing how some of my interests were interpreted. These are the ones that were left that I could pick a recognizable image from.

I posted this on my other journal also. Sorry to friends who get this twice.

I've seen this in several places around LJ so I thought I'd post my list as well. Also, if anyone who I wasn't already going to send one to (that would be you, sister dear and you Heather) would like a Christmas Card, leave a comment with your address. Comments are screened (though I'll probably unscreen those without personal information in them) so your address will only be seen by me.

Here are the instructions for the Wish List if you'd like to post your own.

Step One:

* Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

* If you wish for real life things (not stories or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

* Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two:

Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

* If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use-or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free-do it.

* You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf-to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not-it's your call.

* There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

My Wishlist HereCollapse )

If you want to send me a card, leave a comment and I'll get you my address. If you've got any questions you can reach me at trf(dot)hernandez(at)gmail(dot)com

It has become abundantly clear to me that I'm not going to write another word on my NaNoWriMo project this year. I don't know why, but everytime I sit down to write it something else comes out instead. So, I'm going back to daily writing exercises and as I have daily internet access at the moment, i'm going to try posting them every day as well.

Prompt: Write about losing yourself along the way.
Tool: Mohinder Suresh

Title: Losing Yourself and Being Found by Someone Else
Fandom: Heroes
Pairing: Matt/Mohinder
Warnings: None, really beyond the obvious slash warning. But really, if you don't like slash what are you doing in my journal.
Rating:
Summary:
Author's Notes: It was probably good for me to draw Mohinder today. It means I'm actually getting something for the pairing written instead of going over and over and over it in my head until nobody cares anymore. First attempt with these characters. I hope it works.

This is one of the things I did yesterday instead of working on the NaNovel. It's my first attempt at anything in the fandom and I'm not entirely pleased with how it turned out. I feel like I'm missing one part from the structure. I had originally made it five parts, but one of them didn't fit stylistically at all, so I cut it. Also, I don't like the way the second part doesn't parallel the first, third, and fourth, but I couldn't quite work out a way to have Mick say the opening line without completely changing the tone of the encounter. And I feel like I kind of stumble in and out of Josef's voice, and I'm not sure about Mick's at all. Also, it's unbetaed so if you notice any spelling/grammar errors, let me know, and I'll fix them.

Title: Aiming for the Heart
Author: del_writes
Fandom: Moonlight
Pairing: Mick/Josef
Rating: PG
Summary: Somehow Josef always saves Mick from himself.
Disclaimer: I don't own the show or the characters, but this is how it happens in my head.
Distribution: If anyone wants to archive this, feel free. Please let me know where it's going.
Author’s Notes: This is my first attempt in the fandom, and I'm not entirely sure that there is anything good in here. Please give me feedback, including criticism. I'm starting to love this fandom, and I want to get better.

I was aiming for the heartCollapse )

Also, you should know that the last part isn't just a big tease. I am writing that story, but it's not finished yet and I'm unsure enough about it that I can't really say anything.

I've decided to keep track of my NaNoWriMo progress on this journal this year, so if you don't want to hear about it, now is the time to tell me. I'll set up a filter or something. It's important to note that this will pretty much never be actual snippets from the novel, because I am trying desperately to turn off the inner editor for the month, but I can't bear to let people read my unedited attempts at writing. So what is going to be here is basically a lot of whining about how this thing or the other isn't working out like I planned with the occasional plea for help. If I'm really lucky there will also be the occasional post of how things are going very right.

I'm going to try to post at least once a day with an updated wordcount if nothing else. And I want you, my friends, to yell at me if I'm not writing. I've set a personal goal of 90,000 words for the month, so 3000 words a day, people. If I'm behind, feel free to berate or otherwise try to goad me into catching up. Thanks.

For those who are still with me, here's a little bit about the novel.Collapse )

Okay, I did an update of my writing journal stuff today. Just as a note, I write every day. I don't put every day's effort up here. I write on my other computer which does not have internet access, and then whenever I manage to get around to it, I post the things that I like or at least don't really hate here. I back-date them to the day they were written, but so my friends get a chance to see I try to do one of these posts every time. So here they are, with links, ordered by fandom rather than by date. I've got a few more things from August that I want to clean up just a little before I put them up and then I'll get started on posting the September entries. I added 6 things today.
